Friday Concert: Carolina Chocolate Drops

Back in February, I blogged about the Carolina Chocolate Drops, a new-breed fiddle band.

Well, they did a concert in Amsterdam last month. And guess what? The whole show is streaming online, courtesy of my favorite Dutch website, Fabchannel.

I’m pleased to embed the entire concert – 18 songs! – right here, in high-quality video. You can watch it all or skip song-by-song through the set list.

Afterwhich, I purchased the CD download at Amazon.com. :D

Wish the FabChannel concert was as easily downloadable.

My 9 year old is a Huge Bluegrass fan. The first song she wrote when she was about 7 was a Bluegrass song that opened with:

"Your mommy and your daddy and your sister and your brother can sang...hey hey!"

She's been enamored of the CCD since you introduced us to them in Feb. Before the weekend's over, I'm sure we'll watch them all.

Part of her affinity for this music stems from me playing about 2 dozen tunes from the following box set which was in heavy rotation for years when we drove...especially to and from Day Care.

This box doesn't like long url's, but you can find it if you "google" roots blues 1925-1950'

Thx again.

Little Rabbit was nice, took me way back. Thanks for turning us onto the great talent and the good news.

Peace.

I tried to go see them a couple of months ago in Berkeley, but they were sold out (the club was the size of a dog house--ridiculous), so thanks for that :-)
