Nikki Giovanni interviews Miriam Makeba

From a 1972 episode of “Soul!,” a New York City public television show created after the riots. (Say what you want about the riots; they led to some cool TV artifacts.)

Thanks for posting this; it was wonderful to see and hear this interview. Miriam Makeba was such a beautiful and inspirational woman. Watching her speaking about Stokely Carmichael, his life with her, and studies with Kwame Nkrumah - icing on the cake.

Wow! I remember this series! Soul! Started back in about 1970. Hosted by that brother with the tight afro & glasses. Yeah! Oscar Brown Jr. & Jean Pace used to rule often on that series! Good Times!
