President-elect Obama today announced his economics brain trust. The woman you see here – 43-year-old Melody C. Barnes – will serve as director of the Domestic Policy Council.
That means she’ll be a senior White House advisor on a wide range of domestic issues, not just the economy.
Before joining the Obama campaign this summer, Ms. Barnes was a top official at the Center for American Progress, a center-left think tank. She had been a longtime aide to Sen. Edward Kennedy.
Washingtonian magazine last year spotlighted Melody Barnes as one of D.C.’s best-dressed women.
