Three days...

... and I can truly visualize either of three outcomes on Tuesday night: a blowout victory for Obama, a squeaky-tight win for Obama, or a stunning upset for McCain.

Because America is on the verge of doing something so profoundly at odds with its history, I cannot put absolute faith in the pollsters. The “intangibles” at play this year are enormous.

Still, you can scroll to the bottom of this homepage throughout the weekend and see the latest poll numbers, as compiled by RealClearPolitics.

I've been nervous as a cat for a week now, but the way the numbers seem to be solidifying in Obama's favor in the last couple of days, it really would be an amazing upset if McCain pulls it off. But I feel like I do when my favorite football team has a big lead going into the 4th quarter - "oh my God, they're going to blow it!" But since my favorite football team is the 49ers, I haven't had to worry about that much lately.

^ If McCain manages to win, Jeff, I think most black Americans will simply shrug their shoulders and say, "Of course."

But white folks -- and not just liberal ones -- will be profoundly shaken by it. And they'll talk publicly about racism in a way most haven't since the 1960s.

Fortunately, I don't believe I'll have the opportunity to be proven right about this.

God I hope you are right UBM. Apparently some polls have McCain within the margin of error or a full point ahead. I think Fox has been touting the latest Zogby poll which has McCain 48 to Obama 47.

Like Jeff I am so damn nervous. I'm expecting McCain to win this thing because I just don't trust the young people to get out there and actually vote, couple with the normal Republican election day dirty tricks.

^ Fox is messing with your mind, anon. They want to make sure conservative votes don't sit this one out.

Scroll to the bottom of my homepage, yo. Look at the Gallup numbers.

I'll believe it when I see it. I want to be hopeful, but I'm afraid. I just came from a party with a bunch of Europeans who were sure, and hope, Obama will win. They don't understand how he couldn't. I tried to explain how voter supression works, etc. They countered with, "But that's not fair. That's unamerican! How can that happen? Etc." Welcome to America!

Donate one more time. It feels good. And you'll know you've done all you can.

^ Yeah, Kellybelle, I took the plastic out one more time yesterday.

Within the past 24 hours, the GOP has trotted out a new talking point: Obama is trying to "buy" the election... spending too much money on the lighting for his Berlin speech, spending too much money on TV ads, etc.

Desperate idiots. We are willingly giving Obama all that money so that he can spend it. We realize it's gonna take massive ad buys to counteract the right-wing smear campaigns pushed by Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, the Drudge Report, and a toxic swarm of Internet mud daubers.

Obama wouldn't be spending it if Americans weren't giving it. Thus, when the talking-point brigades draw attention to how much the Obama campaign is spending... they're really calling attention to how much money average Americans have donated.

So, yeah... keep giving, y'all. The best-spent money of all will be for the ground troops, the paid workers who will mobilize in Missouri and Colorado and Pennsylvania and Florida by the hundreds to turn out the vote.

I wish both candidates good luck. Whichever way it goes, I will spend the evening of the 4th and at least one more day in my house. There is a better chance of looting and rioting than there is a sunrise on the the 5th...

^ That's the third time you've said that about the looting and rioting, Vince. If only you knew the truth.

I may get my "ghetto card" pulled for revealing this, but... I got the memo, and you should stock up on provisions.

If Obama wins, Slap a Random White Man Week will be in effect for one full week.

If Obama loses, it's Punch a Random White Man... and it's three weeks.

Care to make a wager...??

Actually, yours is not the only site I aggravate with my presence and I have made that statement dozens of times. Not one black person has disagreed with me yet. And, I have no idea what you mean when you say, "...If only you knew the truth."

And I guarantee I have been punched by more black men than YOU have.

Care to make a wager...??

Wager? Now you're speaking my language. And I'm in Maryland occasionally, so I would expect to be paid off.

Are you, Vince, saying that regardless of the electoral outcome, black people in America will riot on Nov. 4 and/or Nov. 5?

How much money you wanna put on it?

I hate what you said about the 'white man messing up "them INDIANS" all kinds of ways, didn't he?' Fuck you. We're not called "INDIANS," we're Native Americans. Ethnic De Generation just isn't some "Metal band," they arent singing out nonsense, they are singing about the beauty way, the way things are today, and all of their songs are about good. They aren't your typical white man metal band. So why don't you shove that up your ass and watch what you post up.
