The break

Part of the reason I was stressing out is... like a pain addict, I’ve been exposing myself to the right-wing propaganda of Fox News.

As late as last night, the whoremonger Dick Morris insisted that polls predicting an Obama blowout can’t be trusted... except when they indicate a late surge toward McCain.

I halfway believed that crap.

The mantra of the Obama-haters has been: “The Investor’s Business Daily/TIPP poll was the most accurate of all polls in 2004.” And two days ago the IBD/TIPP poll showed Obama ahead nationally by only two points. That’s within the margin of error!

Late deciders are breaking towards McCain! The TIPP poll is the most accurate poll, and it says that this thing could go either way!

Okay, fuckers. Now that you ruined my sleep pattern, why don’t we look at today’s numbers? In particular, let’s look at the final IDB/TIPP poll before Election Day.

Tell us, TIPP... is the race even tighter? Like, neck-and-neck? Maybe McCain has moved ahead by a point or two?

Ummm... no.

The final TIPP poll shows Obama leading McCain by eight points.

Two-point lead on Sunday; eight-point lead today. (Need I remind you... the TIPP poll was the most accurate of all polls in 2004.) Looks like the late deciders have broken towards Obama.

And I am breaking towards the liquor store to buy some Veuve Clicquot.

Tonight, while Obama supporters drink champagne, Dick Morris will probably be sucking on a prostitute’s toes.

If only I could sweeten my bubbly with Sean Hannity’s tears.

OMG, hilarious! I needed that, cause a Negress is stressed and pressed today, for reals.

^ I was pressed when I went to bed, IW. Now, you couldn't knock the grin off my face with a cricket bat.

And let's not forget that the Washington Redskins lost last night. Historically when the Redskins lose the game before the election the incumbent party loses the White House.

I haven't been able to sleep either.

I was at my polling place this morning in my pajamas (I put on jeans too) and was one of the first people to vote.

I'm still nervous because I don't trust voting machines especially not the machines in the battleground states.

In the meantime, just came back from Voting. Go Obama. Though yesterday I was watching one of those NYT video clips and thinking its fair to give McCain some props. He made it to the ticket despite the odds and near-broke campaign, despite his age too. The Palin pick (while controversial) was probably his best move in the campaign to shake things off, and it kinda worked for a few days. (Everyone would be sleeping for McCain/Romney or whatever, Palin added tons of needed exposure) Even going to SNL to counterattack Obama's oodles of ad $$$ was inspired. Now, Please, Senator McCain, work with Prez. Obama the next four years. Go back to normal and be a 'maverick' again. kthxbai.

It ain't over till it's over... I'm not turning on my TV, or listening to the radio, or getting online for the rest of the day. I'll check back in with y'all 'round midnight EST, unless I hear champagne bottles popping outside my Brooklyn apartment window before then...

Nah, who am I kidding. I'm going to be in the thick of it all day long. It's going to be like watching the reading of the O.J. verdict all over again... something like that.

Well, I've been thinking that exact thing. The day of OJ verdict was real uncomfortable as I was going around my little town. I'm seriously wondering about tomorrow if things go the way they're supposed to...It might be "OJ Verdict Day" factorial.

Geez, David. You say it like it is a bad thing. :-)
