Tuesday 12-inch Flashback: ‘Somebody Else’s Guy’

Remember Joceyln Brown? This record was HUGE in the summer of ’84. Especially in D.C.

Before that, Ms. Brown was an in-demand session vocalist. She is featured on the R&B/club hits “In the Bush” (push push, in the bush...) and “I’m Caught Up (In a One Night Love Affair).”

Jocelyn Brown has been living in London since 1990... still making music. (To hear her 2006 ballad “It’s You,” click here.)

UBM, excellent as always.
Do you ever use Pandora.com? Since I was a wee thing when these jams come out I depend on it to dig in the crates. "One Night Love Affair," was suggested to me by Pandora based on my Evelyn Champagne King thumbs-up.

Although I clearly saw the title "Somebody Else's Guy" the song that I started singing in my head was "Another Man."

She is featured on the R&B/club hits “Push Push (In the Bush)”

Get. Out. I love me some old school, but it only occured to me a couple of weeks ago, that I didn't have this song on my player. I've since corrected for that.

Anyway, you couldn't go to "da club" in the mid-80's and NOT hear Ms. Brown. :cabbagepatch:

Thembi, thanks. A friend of mine told me about Pandora last year, but I never got into it. Great concept, though.
