Some free Mahalia Jackson downloads

Okay. Perhaps I should make amends to you good people for my previous post. So check this out:

Amazon.com is offering a full dozen FREE MP3s from “Dig a Little Deeper,” a 2007 Mahalia Jackson anthology.

Just follow this link and take your pick.

I’m streaming one of those free tracks – “His Eye Is On the Sparrow” – on my Vox blog. Click here to listen.

Whether or not God exists, this music represents the best of what human beings carry within us.

Thanks for the link. Mahalia was a titan. Don't know if you're a fan of the genre or not, but the music of Dorothy Love Coats and Madame Edna Gallmon Cooke are the only other female gospel voices that really rival hers in my mind.

Thanks for the comment, Invisible Hand. I am woefully light on knowledge about gospel music. But I did blog about Dorothy Love Coates last year.

I haven't heard of Madame Edna Gallmon Cooke, but will check her out.
