Embedded below, courtesy of the fine folks at NBC.com, is the jam they didn’t show you on “The Tonight Show” last night: Morris Day & The Time doing a medley of “777-9311” and “The Bird.”
(This clip ain’t for everybody... just the sexy people!)

Nice embed!
I think their AARP memberships are showing. "The Bird" seemed to be at a slower tempo. (Heck, even Prince isn't doing splits anymore.)
Did I spy Terry & Jimmy Jam on the stage? They still look "cool" to me, AARP or not. Ah, that clip took me back to my youth at UMCP...thanks for that, man.
Name three top forty acts today that can get down like that.
I will be in Vegas next week to the coolest band in the World. Front row tickets, VIP passes.
Thanks for posting this, Dave.
You're welcome, all.
Lucky you, Craig. I'm gonna try to make some moves and get there, but I don't know.
I also hope they've got a few surprises in their set. You know what I would love seeing this line-up do? "Let's Work." And a Sly Stone cover... maybe "Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf..." Just flex and funk out.
I mean, I don't really need to hear "Chocolate" or "Ice Cream Castles."

^LOL. How 'bout "Fishnets"? :P
Covers would be nice. I wonder how Prince would feel about them doing any of his songs? I wonder if they ever considered it? I love the idea.
Hey man, Ice Cream Castles is to The Time as "Kashmir" is to Zeppelin. It's a slow build. It actually kinds cranks if you let it do it's thing.
The Time can still wipe the stage off most bands today. They aren't in the 20's anymore but I would rather pay my hard-earned dollars on seeing the late 40's era Time than Usher, Beyonce or T.I. in a live setting.
"CHILI SAUCE!"
Thank you so much - you just made my morning! :)
Thank you!
I so needed this after work today!
I've heard they're doing Janet Jackson covers, an Alexander O'Neal cut, Morris's solo hits and some Jesse Johnson songs. I read that they did "Free World" one night.
^ Cool! Thanks, Craig. That sounds so enticing...
Hey there!
I remember this group!
That white dude was working it!!
(LOL)
Lisa
The Time was magnificent. Eddie Levert and Toy Joyner were in the audience last night ... The Flamingo was rockin'.
Prince might show up tonight ... so I heard.
^ Thanks for that, Craig. I'm envious. I couldn't get there for it. And I'm regretting it.
Prince didn't show. But Judge Mathis was there tonight. Don't despair Dave. I spoke with one the friends of the band and there will be more shows, maybe even a tour and a new record.
