Dougfp chin-checked me on that one. And I will wear the dunce cap for being years late. Rush Limbaugh is a hatchet artist, plain and simple.
On his Thursday and Friday broadcasts, Limbaugh used the words “drug,” “drugs” and “cocaine” more than 30 times in connection with Barack Obama. Why? To make the point that Hillary Clinton is running a sleazy campaign.
Apparently, Limbaugh would like to use William Shaheen as his “magic bullet” to assassinate the characters of both Clinton and Obama.
Meanwhile, the only drug addict involved in this conversation is Limbaugh himself!

I think the best thing to do is to ignore him. Just listening to him for a minute makes me sick.
What is it about right-wing pundits which makes me wanna puke every time I hear them? Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, etc...I'm not the "all republicans suck!" kind of person but there isn't even one rational or sane right-wing pundit I can think of. Well maybe Scarborough could be called one but he acts pretty crazy at times too.
I thought ignoring him was the answer too...but that was a decade ago and he's still grooving along.
The right-wing talk radio/FOX NEWS crowd isn't so much a demographic as it is a cult. A really big cult where everyone has the same beliefs and sights the same sources and uses the same circular logic.
Maybe if the guys who were "right-wing before it was cool" would start calling these people out for being the frauds that they are...
Would it make any difference if George Will or Bill Buckley
asked Rush if he had any decency? Or would they just be added to Rush's enemies list?
I've worked in talk radio...the single mindedness is scary on both sides of the mic.
George Will would never call the vulgar pigboy out. An attempt to rid the media landscape of the likes of Rush would render the bow tied suck ass the next turd on the wingnut lawn in need of scooping.
He's a fat loudmouth dope head college drop out who I have caught it lies and distortions more than once, until I stopped listening to him. He is a step up from Michael Savage.
Okay, UBM, now please explain why you think Bill O'Reilly is any better than Rush. They both seem like pigs to me.

How many times have liberal pundits made snide accusations along these very same lines?

3. You want politics to be nice? Look at the abuse Republicans have to deal with on a regular basis.
How many people spoke out when Collin Powell and Condi Rice were accused of being Uncle Toms because they worked for Republicans?
4. IMO Rush Limbaugh generally rips off the blogs. That and the fact that his 3 hour daily show is really not more than 40 minutes, once you excise the commercials, is why I don't bother with him.

Then I'd suggest perhaps the liberals should take the high road once in a while. Because if this astounds you then you've never watched PBS, CNN, CBS, ABC or NBC when they're on the "trail" of some purported Republican transgression.

I haven't listened to O'Reilly's radio show, so I can't speak to that.

So... you're saying that Obama should be forgiven his drug use the same way that right-wing pundits forgave Bush? I guess I just don't get your point. Does this legitimize the accusations that Bush was a cokehead? Does this mean that those accusations can no longer be "off-limits" or to use your words "snide"? You seem to want to bitch about accusations against Bush while condoning accusations against Obama.
