Asterisks anyone?

You know Barry Bonds must be laughing his ass off about this...

Word. I caught a minute of the live conference and I thought Bobby Bonds must be saying, "It's about time somebody else gets to take a little heat for this." Of course his name is listed along with Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte's, but maybe now it won't be just about Barry.

Yo the whispers about pitchers being on that shit more so than the players has been floating out there for a long time.

I have never given a personal fuck about Bonds being on it. He's a baad dude and has been for a very long time. Asterisk, my ass, now.

Cuz if you play fair, how many asteriks do we attach the Clemens' victories or strikeouts?

And I say this with much love for Clemens.

But steroids and HGH don't help you throw a ball across the plate at a high velocity with uncanny accuracy. Likewise, they don't help the hand-eye coordination necesessary for home-run hitting.

They help with recovery.

Pitchers already have almost a week off between starts.

Bonds wasn't a pitcher.

So if his records deserve an asterisk, Babe Ruth lovers, what does that say about Clemens?

And if I was his egotistical ass, I'd chuckle, too.

The bastards... I guess I actually owe Bonds an apology. I was so mad - I really loved the guy and the Giants were my team. I guess I'm just plain naive but I was really surprised to see some of these names.
I say give 'em all an asterisk.

I just read where Congressional so-called leaders have asked for more hearings.

Why?

This is a baseball issue. Let baseball handle it.

I'd like to see this uproar, in Congress, garner the same attention the dragged-on reconstruction of New Orleans and Mississippi has gotten. Ahem - none.

DeAng, are you sure the drugs don't aid in throwing speed? If that fucker Clemens was juiced and throwing at chins... I mean, damn...

The thing that irks me the most is how much of a pass the NFL gets on PED use. I realize that the NFL started testing for steriods some 20 years ago, but the NFL was at the point MLB is now at that time. It just goes to show how far ahead the PED curve the NFL is as compared to MLB. HGH is now the big thing going on in the NFL and MLB, but I'm sure that HGH use has been rampant in the NFL for years and years. In fact, NFL players have probably already moved on to the next big thing that MLB players, by and large, haven't even caught on to yet.

I just wish PEDs weren't portrayed as just a Baseball problem when I'm sure that they are an even much bigger problem in the NFL.

Dave, according to people in the know, steroids don't boost your natural ability. They help you perform at your peak longer though.

So if your peak ain't that high, steroids won't make you the Incredible Hulk.

But most folks can't do peak performance all the time. After all, that's a lot of energy,.

'Roids allow athletes to perform at peak level all the time.

You still have to train and do all the stuff you have to do to be a great athletic performer. But with 'roids, you now have the energy to do that shit like that all the time.

Bring it home. Can you perform like you did when you was a 20s-pup?

'Roids are Viagara basically. It don't give you what you don't or didn't have. It just helps you do what you can do all the time.

Now Clemens had rage issues a few times. And that's supposedly a side-effect of 'roids.

But I love both Clemens and Bonds as players. Baad baad dudes.

Remember, these are names that came out from limited sources. I think the usage was even wider.

Bonds, Clemens and McGuire stand out as having massive body changes.

Watch a baseball game on ESPN classic from the 70's or 80's and look at how skinny all of those guys were....you don't see any players that look like that now.

Of course, back then, they were taking speed and shit to recover from long road trips.

I have to admit that I cracked up when I heard Clemons and Petit's names...I was like YES YES YES YES YES

Choke on it - all those sportscasters who have been hounding Barry Bonds.

I'm not even a Bonds fan..I'm just tired of them picking on him, like he's the worst person in the game of baseball.

^ And all the while they were hounding him, Rikyrah, Bonds had to be thinking to himself: "If these fools only knew..."

Now we know.

News flash, Andy Pettite, Roger's training mate, just admitted he took HGH.

Pettitte's admission makes Clemens look even worse, since they were both included in the report based on information from the same informant. Clemens issued a flat denial where he questioned the informant's credibility while Pettitte has basically said that everything the man said is true. So the guy is telling the truth about Pettitte but lying about Clemens? Very unlikely; Clemens is screwed. Oh yeah, one more thing....HA!!
