Speaking of Stevie...

... I never knew that “All I Do” – one of the great tunes off of “Hotter Than July” – was originally written for Tammi Terrell, and that she recorded it in 1966. (Yes, Stevie Wonder was a teenager when he co- wrote that song.)

Click here to hear the Tammi Terrell version. It was never released... until 2002, when Universal Music Group put out a compilation in the U.K. called “A Cellarful of Motown!”

Hey, that was nice. :-) I had no idea that Tammi Terrell did it first.

Stevie's version is one of my FAVORITE songs of his. Whenever I listen to my Stevie Wonder playlist, it's usually the first song I play.

Fine post!

whew, you done did it this time, UBM. I played this three times in a row. Stevie is so good for reinventing his music. like his work on syretta's first album, the way he rearranged I love every little thing about you. whew!

also, tammi terrell = massively underrated.

Great post!

Its another clear piece of evidence why Stevie is one of the all time greats. He brings so much swing to his version its sick.

I really thought Tammi was just the ketchup to Marvin's french fries. Didn't know she had her own thing going.
