Dude was ready to run as soon as he raised up on Santa.
Notice;
right hand on rail,
weak left thrown,
quick fall.
Ol' boy just got waxed.
Watching too much BET.
He must have thought that corn rows on a Black guy meant he was Gangsta'.

For some reason this brings to mind some words from Dave Chappelle: "Bitch, you just made my penis go soft."

Not sure what to think about this, from the trash talk coming from the back of the bus about 'pinky' and kicking the white dudes ass, to the old fellow busting the idiots chops with some inaccurate but powerful punching.

He got what was coming.

I'm interested in the virology of this video. It was uploaded Tuesday. Now stands at 160,000 views. I say it gets a million before end of day next Tuesday.

So many precious moments. Like at 2:13... "Next time, I'ma fuck you up!"

But I think my personal fave is 2:52, from a concerned female: "You all right? Did he break your teeth?"

Comedy gold.

So many lessons in less than three and a half minutes! Lessons on the nature of men... lessons in racial politics... in urban survival... in public etiquette.

Even lessons in storytelling and character. These cats ring out like a couple of fictional characters.

the girl says in the follow-up that the black guy is 51 years old.

When keeping it real goes wrong!

And what does he have in that fanny pack?

Extra whoopass, that's what.

"I see tough guys like you and I slap the shit out of 'em!"

A veritable smorgasbord of 'teachable moments,' huh?

Happy Black History Month !!

Meh, performance art. The guy's probably looking to get on a reality show, that is if he doesn't get killed or arrested first.

that dude said...

"he leakin'...."

and the hot new catchphrase "call the amber lamps"

This clip is inspiring all kinds of racial, political commentary all over the interwebs.

I still can't figure out what set the whole thing off - thought I heard something about fishing.

I would have been the lady who kept saying "it's not worth it."

Anyone wearing a fanny pack makes me nervous.

Ah yes Bay Area transit.

That 67 year old guy was 6'1" and 280 according to one of the local stories.

Not sure if anyone linked one of the other bus fights that was infamous a while back, this one with two women in San Francisco.

bklyn6 said...

Reviewer X, I was wondering whether this was some kind of mass transit phenomenon. When I first saw UBM's post I immediately thought about Marta Girl.

While what's going on in front of the camera is interesting, I'm always a bit more curious about the person behind the camera. :-)

I'm thinking the same thing bklyn6. Are people such reality TV exhibitionists that they don't give a thought to the camera? And that operator got some pretty tight shots without a zoom lens? I'm surprised one of those sucker punches didn't go for the lens. Oh, and I find women do tend to jump into things, sometimes before men will step up. I've done it myself, luckily without any scratches but afterwards saying to myself, "Are you nuts???" As they say God looks out for fools and babies. And finally, people still use the term "pinky"?

There's so much misinterpretation going on in those videos and those comments. It's a prime example of how escalating emotions *completely* fuck your views. I see it in small doses when me and the missus yell at each other about perceived slights, but then you see it here writ large and man oh man. Fuck - when are we all just going to be BORG so we know exactly what we're all thinking? Jesus Christ!

I love how the woman with the camera goes "beat that white ass up" and then as soon as the black guy gets hit she goes "what the fuck! stop it stop it!".

The chinese lady/black lady one was more interesting hahaha. She was kicking!

SJ said...

So apparently this guy created a Twitter account...can't tell if it's fake or not. But yeah he's using terms like "jigaboo"...

JMC said...

OF COURSE that's fake. {{facepalm}}

The lyrics to the song "Brooklyn Zoo" by Ol' Dirty Bastard come to mind whenever I watch this: "In yo' FACE, like a can of mace, baby! Is it burnin'? Well, f**k it, NOW ya learnin'!"

That was HILARIOUS! I loved it and watched it 4 times just to see the 60 year old man beat that ass! He walked away and warned the dude to get out of his face.

Instead of a rematch on the bus, though, how about a beer summit at the White House?

I just want to know if this interview with the younger ( age 50) black dude gives anybody a different perspective of the "hero" status currently being enjoyed by the old white dude? It certainly does for me. At the very least, now I know what really went down and what it was exactly old dude said that began the whole incident. It was, indeed, an insult in my view. I mean, why did he ask to pay ANYONE else to "spit shine" his shoes to go along with the outfit he was wearing to his mama's funeral? The whole incident was just ignorant. Anyway, that's my take. But after hearing and seeing this new interview with an admittedly now sobered-up brotha, what's yours?

Here's the link:

No. He felt insulted, voiced his displeasure, and then went too far.

junebug said...

@ 1:45, some dude yells out: "Ay, he beatin' that nigga's ass!" Too bad this is gonna empower pasty-faced white punks to get behind a computer screen and type "f**k them niggers", or something similar on a message board under an anonymous name. Or worse yet, actually try to start something with a brother that CAN fight...or might be strapped...and ain't in the mood for games.

Edshugeo The GodMoor said...

If they do, hopefully they'll bring a camera.
As for the anonymous legions typing N-words, they've been at that for over a decade now. If not his video, then something else.

JMC said...

That interview just continues to prove that these two people *miscommunicated* and things escalated from there. Look at the other interviews linked here of the old white guy explaining what happened before the other guy got involved. He was talking (loud apparently) to his friend about having to get dressed up to go to his mom's funeral. In passing he mentions how he has to get his shoes shined by his 'boy' - apparently some buddy of his. Now this slightly-intoxicated guy passes by and he hears "boy has to shine my shoes!". He goes off! Why does a brother have to shine your shoes? The white guy is amazed this guy is getting in his bizness so he tries to make a wise-ass joke of it "How much would *YOU* charge to shine my shoes" in some sort of anti-racist reverse-psychology taunt of "I don't care if you're white, black, or a china-man, I need my shoes shined for my mother's funeral and leave me the fuck alone - I ain't racist!"

So it's all just one giant clusterfuck of emotions and words heard out of context. Rage rises, folks have to cover their manhood, punches are thrown. Everyone - now that time has passed, alcohol has been pissed away, and threat of all eyes of the world on you - is acting as rational as possible. THIS IS TO BE EXPECTED. We all have our triggers - we all have our fuses - and create the perfect storm and be fortunate enough to whip out a camera to capture it all and we can all see our ugly side plastered on youtube.

The solution here - the fairytale end to all this is if all parties concerned see the mistakes that were made - they all visit the white guy's moms grave and pay their respects, then visit the black guy's vet brother, and in the end shake hands and become good friends. I don't see a bad person in any three of these people - black dude, white dude, and camera lady.
