Playlist: Covers en español

The melodies will sound familiar. But you won’t understand the words... unless you speak Spanish. Because I’m streaming Spanish- language covers on my Vox blog! Click ’n’ enjoy.

And if you know any other good ones, let me know. I’ll keep this thang going in the comments section.

1. “La Ultima Milla” (“Folsom Prison Blues”) – Mingo Saldivar

2. “Todo Negro”
(“Paint It Black”) – Los Salvajes

3. “Should I Stay or Should I Go” – Los Fabulosos Cadillacs

4. “Todo Lo Que El Hace”
(“Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”) – Soraya

5. “Yo Viviré”
(“I Will Survive”) – Celia Cruz

Thanks for the covers.

I've got a Celia Cruz greatest hits comp, but I don't think her "I Will Survive" cover is on on it. :-(

Here's a cover of "Tainted Love" by a Spanish pop band called La Unión... BAM!

^Cool! Thanks for posting.

Hey does this one count? It's "Todo Mi Amor Eres Tu (I Just Can't Stop Loving You)". I downloaded it from amazon.com. I was looking for MJ songs and I saw this on his "Bad" CD. I had no idea he did a Spanish version of this song. I just had to buy it. :-)

^ Interesting, bklyn6. I had no idea either.

I was thinking about trying to do a list with artists re-doing their own tunes in Spanish... like Beyonce does.

^Good idea!

Kool & the Gang did a Spanish version of "Celebration". I thought I had it. I'm looking at "Celebration: The Best of K&tG" right now, but I don't see it. :-/

^ You're great, bklyn6! I got it downloading right now from iTunes. It's called "Celebremos."

And I knew about Gloria Gaynor's Spanish version of "I Will Survive" before I knew about Celia Cruz's version... but I can't find it on MP3.
