Ms. Debelle’s album – “Speech Therapy” – has been nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize, past winners of which include Antony and the Johnsons, Franz Ferdinand, Dizzee Rascal and Portishead.

UPDATE (09/11/09): It was announced this week that Speech Debelle won that Mercury Prize.

She's awesome and adorable (uh, and hopefully over 18?). Thanks. BTW, after listening to a bunch of her songs on youtube I found a collaboration she did with someone named "Micachu". I checked out more of Michachu and she plays awesomely weird, smart pop.
