Isn't there something in the Bill of Rights that doesn't allow law enforcement to arrest you in your own house without cause? Oh, yeah. The 4th Amendment. If a black cop had barged into some eminent white professors home and taken him out in handcuffs, would a white President have been so vociferous in defending the cop's actions in that case? Or would he have said the exact same thing Obama did? Would Jackie think the President was a racist in that case? The fact is, race affects what people think when these incidents occur. People like Mason and others hide their racism by hiding it under the concept of "law and order." He has it assbackwards. The presumption of innocence doesn't apply to the officer of the law who violated someone's privacy, it belongs to the person whose privacy was violated.
Couldn't agree more - nutty as fuck. I think you can get a certificate that says that these days.
Ed Sullivan was a prophet
