Rock and Roll Hall of Famer
David Byrne has had a most excellent post-
Talking-Heads career as a record executive.

Byrne’s boutique label,
Luaka Bop, is 21 years old. Luaka Bop has released a lot of hip music by artists from around the world... such as Susana Baca, Tom Zé and Zap Mama.
Byrne is especially fond of Brazilian music. And I’ve got a funky FREE MP3 by
Jorge Ben off the Luaka Bop anniversary compilation,
“Twenty First Century, Twenty First Year.”To hear “Ponta de lança africano – Umbabarauma,”

Last night I downloaded the "Luaka Bop - Orinoco Sampler" at Amazon.com--FOR FREE! Can't remember if Jorge Ben is on it, but all the other artists you mention are.
Yay.
^ Yay indeed.
The entire Jorge Ben album that this track is taken from is FIRE!!! It's called Africa-Brasil and you've got to find it wherever, however, you can.
^ Damn, Dacks... that CD is priced from $50 up to $159 by Amazon sellers!!
I didn't listen to the song before downloading, so I was surprised to hear that I already own it. Got it when I first got hip to Calabash Music (now Mondomix).
"Umbabarauma." So that's what he's saying. :-)
^ A step ahead of me, as you often are!
