A free Odean Pope download

Veteran tenor man Odean Pope has hooked up with a mysterious clique of hip-hop beatmakers called the Misled Children.

The result is a funky new album called “The Misled Children Meet Odean Pope.”

You might like the FREE MP3 they got out there.

Click here to hear “Foregone” on my Vox blog. To download it, click the track title below.

Is that a huge sax or a perspective(Crushing your head with two fingers)thing going on?

As soon as I see a large horn it reminds me of Funk Tubaist(?) Jon Sass, who we had the honor of traveling with on a couple of European dates.

His Bass battles with the Bass player from LMT Connection are still shakin' Souls and internal organs.

He gets low,gets low,gets low!

No offense to the Gravity/Howard Johnson crew, but Jon is the only FONK Tuba player that I have ever heard.

Nice cut! Odean actually had a funky trio in the early 80s with Gerald Veasley on electric bass and Cornell Rochester on drums. It's out of that Blood Ulmer school of jazz funk.
