Supreme hotness

Look at that face. Janelle Monáe is ridiculously good-looking.

More impressively, she doesn’t skate by on beauty. She has committed herself to an idiosyncratic artistic vision, in the spirit of Nona Hendryx, Betty Davis and Grace Jones.

Monáe’s debut EP, “Metropolis: The Chase Suite,” came out yesterday. I’m streaming “Many Moons” on my Vox blog; click here to listen.

Next Monday, Janelle Monáe performs for free at Amoeba Music in Hollywood. I’ll be there... hoping not to turn into a stalker.

    I agree with anybody ...beautiful girl. I actually disagree with "Lisa" ...borderline? Shit, honey IS fine. LOL.

    I just sampled her EP on iTunes. Wow, she's way more left than I thought. Could grow on me though.

    She sang on OutKast's Idlewild album, a finger-snapper called "Call the Law." I liked it a lot. And there's nothing wrong with being "weird" or "out there." If you look like everyone else, that means you're easily replaceable.

    You know what gets me mad? Monae is cool, i like her. You once posted "progressive black women" on your blog right: with Tiombe Lockhart and Georgia Anne.

    Shit, I am really an outthere kind a nigga. I am literate and cultured. So when i search for a woman she gotta be progressive. So it makes me a little mad to find out that Tiombe Lockhart got a white boyfriend. Look, i am cool with interacial dating. But, come on, i have to go through bullshit booty shaking women to get to those who have minds and when you do find them you find out they've abondoned brothers.

    So i hope that more women like Monae date niggas. Sure go other races if interested but i really think they gotta stick around a bit more.
