Barrington Levy, a dancehall reggae star since his teenage years in the 1970s, will perform tonight at the Hollywood Bowl. It’s
Reggae Night VII; UB40 is the headliner, and “soul reggae” veteran Beres Hammond rounds out the bill.
Barrington Levy’s old albums have been digitally reissued. One of his early hit singles, “Shine Eye Girl,” is available as a FREE MP3.

Maybe I'm showing my age here, but I wasn't familiar with Barrington Levy until he recorded "Bad Boyz" with Biggie sound-alike Shyne.
But anyone down with dancehall and reggae needs to get familiar with Levy real quick. That's good music.
He needs to swoop through Tampa sometime.
