A free Yomo Toro download

In honor of today’s presidential primary in Puerto Rico, here’s one for the boriquas.

Yomo Toro is a master of the cuatro, a guitar-like instrument. He has recorded with Latin superstars Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe... as well as Harry Belafonte, Paul Simon and David Byrne.

He was also a member of the Fania All-Stars.

Toro’s album “Funky Jibaro” – originally released 20 years ago – has been digitally reissued. The track “Raging Toro” is available as a FREE MP3.

Click here to hear “Raging Toro” on my Vox blog. To download it, click the song title below.

Yomo Toro is His Most Heavy Dopeness. How he got those fat fingers to move so precisely and so fast...amazing. And funky as all get out.

^ Oh wow... I didn't even notice those fingers.

It's the title track from that album that still burns hottest... thanks for the info that it's been reissued

Toro/Willie Colon is da best. Check out Colon's two-volume "Asalto Navideno" 1 & 2 for some of the best Christmas music you'll ever hear.

Toro proves that it just isn't holiday season without some blazin' cuatro solos.

Hey man, thanks for the music. One of Yomo's former collaborators, Willie Colon, has two new singles available on his website, if you're interested. They are real nasty, if you know what I mean.
