A free Homemade Jamz Blues Band download

The Perry siblings from Tupelo, Miss., are billed as “the youngest blues band in America.” Singer/guitarist Ryan is 15, bass player Kyle is 13, and drummer Taya is 9.

They’re the Homemade Jamz Blues Band. (Aren’t they cute?) And Ryan Perry can really play.

Their debut CD – “Pay Me No Mind” – just came out. It’s downloadable from iTunes, eMusic and Amazon.

One track is available as a FREE MP3. Click here and check out “Penny Waiting On Change” on my Vox blog. To download it, just click the song title below.

Homemade Jamz will be playing festival gigs throughout the summer... including Lollapalooza. I bet they’re fun to watch.

Thanks for posting this UBM. I saw this band on television. It's a testament to parents who are not only involved in their children's lives, but are passing on traditions and an appreciation for this art form. Granted I don't know the extend of "stage parenting" in this scenario, but I don't care. I thought the blues was lost in the African American community. But then I saw the story on Homemade Jamz Blues Band and was a believer again.

Nice find! Thanks! I tried to download it, but didn't succeed. I'll definitely try again.

Oh, and I love the picture, but I can't articulate why. :-)

And how cool would it be if they opened for the Carolina Chocolate Drops?

^ Didn't succeed with the download? I just tried that link (using Firefox) and it worked.

Let me know if you keep having trouble.

^No worries. I just ordered the CD at Amazon!

How is it that I come here for a daily dose of hodgepodge* and end up spending money? :P

*And I'm not using that perjoratively. :-)

Not only can he play, Dude can sing too. Hard to believe he is only 15. Very Nice.
