Jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan has a new album out called “State of Nature.”
I don’t know what you think of his signature two-handed tapping technique. It sure is impressive to look at... but I’m not crazy about the sound it produces.
If you happen to be a fan, I’ve got a FREE MP3 for you off the new album. To hear Jordan do “Mozart’s Piano Concerto #12,” click here.

I dig his Beatles covers and am forced to have a certain degree of respect for anything released on Bluenote, even Cecil Taylor!
UBM, Thank you for this performance of Mozart's Piano Concerto #21, 'Elvira Madigan'. I adore the piece and never would have expected this virtuosity on the guitar. I first heard the piece in 1967 at Syracuse U and I have been haunted and lifted by it over this span of years. I just wish I could see his fingering and possibly have his solo played as a concerto. I must listen more, but I am curious how he transcribed the strings, which carry the tempo and emotion, and the piano into the all-string guitar; some feat.
You have gifted me Leontyne Price and Stanley Jordan this year.
Gratefully,
Caged Bird
^ I'm so glad you liked it, Caged Bird.
Undercover, You Blog is like a world-class library. I could spend all day here enjoying all of your hard work. I'm a huge Stanley Jordan fan. He hooked up some nice Beatles cuts and he's even done a mean Stairway to Heaven. I wasn't aware of his new Album. I'll have to pick it up. I like the Mozart as well.
Thanks for spinning it!
