Kareem Abdul-Jablogger

Basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has started a blog under the banner of the Los Angeles Times.

Thus far, it’s as much about history and culture (Lewis H. Latimer, Herbie Hancock) as it is about sports.

But you already knew the man was deep, right?

He has a really great article on staying in shape after the age of 50.

I wish he would put some paragraph separators in his blog posts.

It's hard for bad eyes like mine to stay focused.

Other than that, he has a great blog. I'll be tuning in to read more! AS always thanks for the cool links :)

I guess what little I know about his "depth" I gleaned from Dave Zirin's "What's My Name, Fool?: Sports And Resistance In The United States." Seems Abdul-Jabbar is too deep for a managerial position with the NBA that's for sure.

I knew he was deep after he appeared on Stephen Colbert's Hiphopketball: A Jazzebration.

"Some lay-ups. A dunk. And now we will jam, like Theolonious Monk!"

He is still alive?

I thought I saw him killed in that documentary movie-Game Of Death.

Yep, Tanyetta, he's doing it for real. I hope he maintains his vigorous pace with posting.

His memoir "Giant Steps" is one of the best sports books ever by an athlete. Small pool, I know, but still...
