MBP of the Week: New York Times

The New York Times posted this correction on its website Sunday:

“An entry on Nov. 4 in the Holiday Movies listings misidentified the actor who portrays a member of a small-time crime duo preparing to rob a local church in ‘First Sundays.’ He is Tracy Morgan — not Chi McBride, who plays the pastor at the church.”

(Hat-tip: Regret the Error.)

For those keeping score, this is the sixth time I’ve featured a New York Times mistake since I began cataloging Misidentified Black People nine months ago.

I'd be more outraged if I didn't see an almost daily stream of stupid mistakes the Times makes on Gawker. It's not right that they keep misidentifying black people, but their stupidity is not limited to us.

Don't know why you're being so negative, it could of been worse. In their correction the Times could of put up a picture of Morgan Freeman misidentified as Tracy Morgan.

Just wait till the claim that Samuel L. Jackson recorded "Werewolf Bar Mitzvah."
