Being a D.C. boy, I’m down with Cephas & Wiggins, the world-travelling Piedmont blues traditionalists. John Cephas and Phil Wiggins were always playing at the Folklife Festival and things like that. They always rocked.
Follow this link if you’d like to download a FREE MP3 by Cephas & Wiggins, courtesy of Download.com. The song is “Ain’t Seen My Baby,” off their 2006 CD “Shoulder to Shoulder.” (Available on iTunes.)
You can hear “Ain’t Seen My Baby” on my Vox blog by clicking here.

UBM, I really have to commend your music coverage! You make it look so easy! Clearly the folks at Bold As Love or other sites "specializing" in "urban" music make it look hard.
Can you recommend a colored crew on the 'Net devoted to what you are doing full time?
Thank you, Bryan.
As a matter of fact, I can highly recommend Bob Davis and his crew at Soul-Patrol.com. He’s got the old-school funk and soul, the funky jazz, the black rock, the neo-soul... heck, even some doo-wop.
Bob is a culture warrior of the highest caliber. He doesn’t just spout his opinions on the Internet... he interviews a lot of artists, adding to the historical database. He organizes a convention where fans can come and talk to these artists.
I’ve had Soul-Patrol on my blogroll from the beginning, but I should be doing more to point people to ‘em. So consider this the beginning.
