Ten days ago, I
pointed y’all to a couple of free MP3s from
Corey Harris, neo-traditional blues artist.

Well, Mr. Harris is in the news, because yesterday he was named a
MacArthur Fellow. That means he’ll receive a so-called “genius grant” from the MacArthur Foundation – $500,000 over the next five years, “no strings attached.”
Congratulations, Corey Harris!
(Here are
all 24 of this year’s MacArthur Fellows.)
Let me celebrate by streaming a track off his new reggae CD,
“Zion Crossroads.” (Downloadable from iTunes.)

wow... that's great news!
i've really slacked off on following his career over the past couple of years, but i liked his early work a great deal.
