Something uninhibited from Louis C.K.

“Everybody who’s white should just wake up and go, ‘I’m fucking white! This is great! ... How easy is this shit? ... The police protect me...’ ”

Speaking of bold racial humor, I came across a clip of Louis C.K. from 2004. Now here’s the thing about Louis C.K. He deserves lifetime props for his creative collaboration with Chris Rock on HBO’s “Chris Rock Show.” (For directing “Pootie Tang”? Not so much.)

But from what I’ve seen of his standup comedy, C.K. to me is, like, almost funny enough. But not quite.

Well, this clip is funny. It’s C.K. talking about the time he performed for an all-black crowd at a “Mo Betta’ Monday” show at the Hollywood Improv. (He bombed.)

His last special on HBO was hilarious :-)

I can't remember how much of that I saw, dez... but didn't he do a lot of weird sex stuff? Like about kids?

^ The only thing I remember is that he called his daughter an asshole. It was funny, but nothing too special.

Lucky Louie was a tremendous disappointment. It took for granted that saying "FUCK" in a traditional sitcom setting would be guaranteed laughs. But the plots and jokes were too warmed over, and C.K. and Pamela Adlon were shrill, unlikable leads.

The scene with Jerry Minor doing Cosby, however, was priceless.

^ I could never make it through a whole episode of "Lucky Louie." I don't know what it is about C.K. that keeps me from connecting with him.

Pootie Tang is one of my all time favorites, though I didn't care for the character on the Chris Rock Show.

Louis C.K. is great! Didn't see his sitcom, though.

At least Louis' weird sex jokes were funny, unlike the ones slung by Bob Saget in his HBO special tonight. Actually, most of Saget's set stunk.

Oy! I meant to check that out, dez... only because of Saget's rep among other comics as a filth-monger. (I did see him in "The Aristocrats.")

But life's too short for bad comedy.

Oh, he was definitely foul-mouthed, but most of it was in the vein of, "Hey, I was in 'Full House,' but I cuss like a sailor! Fuck fuck shit fuck! Ain't it funny to hear Bob Saget say 'Fuck'!?"

Yeah, Bob...not so fuckin' much! :-D

I'll grant that the song about his ball-licking dog was kinda funny, and I laughed a couple of other times, but overall, he was boring (and way over-reliant on his "Full House" past for jokes). Lots of gay jokes (most at the expense of his "Full House" castmates), lots of potty humor, lots of crude sex remarks. He doesn't just work blue--he works indigo.

I saw the humor in the video, but I thougth it was a bit much (and I am black, was beaten a time or two by my mom, and support diciplining kids) but those boys looked so little. I didn't like it!

I just saw this today...I wrote something on Pootie Tang yesterday and the Sugar Hill Gang today...I think you may be following me! :-)

^ Oh damn, IW... we must be on the same vibe. (Although why either one of us would be thinking about the Sugarhill Gang is a mystery.)

E-Boogie: Welcome to my spot. Are you referring to the Louis C.K. video, or the "Child Beater" one?
