i feel like if they are gonna do a black version of an already funny british comedy it better be good. wow lol they got the same actor to play the midget. i keep picturing that one film with loretta divine and ll cool j fighting temptations i think.

yea man the british one was pretty funny. peter dinklage is good. at one point i started renting stuff just b/c he was in it. haha at no one beats shadow and act
I can tell you this...no one beats Shadow And Act when it comes to black folks complaining. I kid, I kid. I LOVE S&A. And I love complainin' ass black folks. MYSELF included!
I hope that all the best jokes weren't shown in the trailer.
Peter Dinklage was amazing in Prince Caspian. I didn't realize it was him until I saw the movie the second time on a DVD and watched the "making of" afterwards. I would have sworn up and down that it was a British actor.
story funny from the first scene, just builds and builds.
each character's story is entertwined, and there are just enough of them. the acting is wonderful...we could not stop laughing. i watched it alone and then with my kids.
i have no interest in seeing a remake--they're usually not as good as a british original.
I find the very idea of this remake strange. I know this happens in television all the time, but to have an English language film (one that received a semi-wide U.S. release no less) get remade after only two years? Just weird. I can't think of any other examples of this. Hopefully it'll be funny.
I love Chris Rock. I think he is one of the top 5 stand up comics of all time. He can't act a bit, and I can't understand why people let him drive a movie.
i was gonna post this later today; that's what i get for being a slacker :-/

ReplyDelete^ kj, that little dude Peter Dinklage is a real good actor. I've been wanting to work with him for years.
ReplyDeleteThe British original was funny, huh?
I still don't feel eager to see it.
IW: Nobody beats Shadow and Act when it comes to posting trailers.

re: dinklage: loved the station master.
ok, i watched the trailer...they've made it pretty crass and dumbed down the dialogue quite a lot. you don't need to explain a joke!
ReplyDeleteThe original is in the style of a classic British farce. Think Fawlty Towers stretched over 90 mins. Will be interesting to see how this translates.

ReplyDeleteThis trailer is everywhere, but I have yet to see anyone post that they think the film looks funny.

ReplyDeleteSheeeeit. They didn't even find a chick with a big booty to make Martin Lawrence's "ass is in graduate school" joke work.
This movie looks like comedy death.
