Guitarist Ernest Ranglin is a living legend of Jamaican groove. As a session musician and arranger at Studio One (“the Motown of Jamaica”), Ranglin took part in the rise of ska and reggae music.
He played on the 1964 single “My Boy Lollipop” by Millie Small. Which was the first international hit record by a Jamaican artist.
In 2006 Ernie Ranglin recorded a new version of “My Boy Lollipop” featuring American singer Alana Davis. It’s available as a FREE MP3.
