... and I’ll say it again: This guy – Warren Hutcherson – should be playing Barack Obama on “Saturday Night Live.” (Because Fred Armisen just ain’t cuttin’ it.)
He's very funny and looks the part, but can he act? Chris Rock, for example, is funny, but can't act his way out of a paper bag. I hope so because he's very likable.
SJ: Jordan Peele is funny and has the voice down. I think people are trying too hard to do an impression. They should be trying to find the quirk. Like Obama's pauses. They should play that up by having him say something outlandish and unexpected. Mebbe?
Almost anybody would be better than Armisen right now. He stinks at it! I'm not an SNL regular, but any fledgling desires I have to become a regular viewer are being quickly crushed by his Obama impersonations. I wouldn't be able to stand 4 years of him.
He's lanky, funny, smart, clean nad articulate. I say yes.

ReplyDelete^ I've never seen Warren do sketch work, GG. He has made his fortune in Hollywood as a TV writer. But it sure would be worth a try.
ReplyDeleteLike him. Very refreshing isn't he?
ReplyDeleteHave you seen jordan Peele from MadTV do an Obama impression? I think he's pretty good.

ReplyDeleteExactly, Kellybelle!
He's good. I don't know about no Obama though. Fred Armisen definitely ain't handling business...SNL needs to check out this guy named Alphacat.
ReplyDelete^ I likes.
ReplyDeleteHe's good. Sorta reminds me of Dave Chapelle. (Really wish Dave still had his show. He would have destroyed Sarah P.)
ReplyDelete^ Yeah, when Warren did that white club-owner voice, I thought of Dave Chappelle.
ReplyDeleteI believe Warren and Chappelle performed together on an HBO standup special -- or series of specials -- in like '97.
