Been back in California for less than a week, and already I’m nostalgic for New Orleans. This photo is musician Davis Rogan, yours truly and David Simon at the parade.
Later on I’ll share some of the music I bought when I was down there.
By the way, if you missed Simon on “The Colbert Report” last night, here it is:
I saw that pic and thought, who is that Indy band and what music is UBM pushing/streaming today? :-D
ReplyDeleteHey...don't laugh.... I know that David plays a pretty decent guitar.
ReplyDeleteAnd the guy in the middle has Mariachi written all over him.
^ Har har.
ReplyDeleteThat interview was fun, but I was hoping New Orleans (and Treme) would come up.
ReplyDelete^ I hear you, SJ. But there's no need to talk up "Treme" till at least they start production on the pilot ep., which would be next spring.
ReplyDeleteBeen years UBM, it's good to see you. You look just like another Joe I know.
ReplyDeletePeace
Damn dude. You're so...young!
ReplyDelete^ Exactly! That picture is like, "Who is that Guatemalan boy prostitute standing between those two old perverts?"
ReplyDelete:^D
agree with SJ. never too early to start the buzz. it's already been reported...this could have been an easy placement. there was a tiny opening to mention the show and it passed. probably because colbert was just running over him.
ReplyDeletehe could have and should have said he had a pilot underway. total missed opportunity! sometimes colbert is great; other times he totally monopolizes those segments.
simon he had no time to say a word. and for whatever reason, someone must have told colbert to keep pushing generation kill--a dead show that doesn't need any press.
just weird all around. can't imagine simon felt too good about it.
Generation Kill still has a DVD release coming, so there's a perfectly good reason to talk that up. And FYI, this was the highest rated Colbert Report episode in show history. This obviously had everything to do with Simon being on the show and nothing to do with Obama being on The Daily Show.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing, what's the deal with Simon pretending he's never won an Emmy?
