It’s quite obvious by now that Sarah Palin hasn’t much helped John McCain as a running mate. But you know what? McCain didn’t help her by choosing her either.
Sarah Palin is now a national joke. What does that mean for her future?
Sure, Palin could be re-elected governor of Alaska. But what if that’s not enough for her? What if the national spotlight and the adulation of the right-wing “base” has gotten good to her?
My guess is that Sarah Palin in a couple of years will be the host of her own TV show... on Fox News. (And she’ll still be a joke.)
On TMZ last night they were on the set of a porno starring a Palin look-a-like. The "plot" involves some foreign negotiations with Russians.
ReplyDeletePalin IS a joke. Although this joke is lasting a little too long and it has me a bit nervous.
ReplyDeleteBut LOL they are so wrong for that porno. I bet it sells though.
I've been saying the same thing. She'll get a Fox show and do "commentary" like her comrade Pat Buchanon - the guy everyone wants to forget she supported in the 2000 elections over Bush and McCain.
ReplyDeleteIt was her own party that started the investigations on her back in Alaska prior to her VP nod so I doubt it will be easy for her to get re-elected.
She'll get a Fox show and do "commentary" like her comrade Pat Buchanon...
ReplyDeleteThe thing is, she's hardly qualified to do that. She just does not have the breadth of experience and expertise to make her opinion worth much.
What she has is charm and sex appeal and a face made for TV (if not a voice).
Isn't Mike Huckabee getting a Fox show? I actually like Huckabee; it's just his politics that I can't stand.
ReplyDeleteI could easily see Palin getting her own show. I just wonder if there are enough right-wing, non-too-bright women to sustain an audience.
^ Huckabee's show is on. I haven't watched in entire episode, but each one starts with Huckabee taking questions from a studio audience.
ReplyDeleteI like him too. He has enough integrity to occasionally deviate from RNC talking points.
As for Palin, her audience isn't just conservative women. It's middle-aged (and horny) conservative men.
If she gets a Fox show, she has to wear that tiara on it.
ReplyDeletePalin has no future outside Alaska. She's become a mean-spirited joke. If people want a right-wing nut case, they'll choose Huckabee, who at least puts a smiling face on their bullshit.
ReplyDeleteThing is, even in Alaska now, she's a lame duck. Way too much has been uncovered by the VP-vetting. I don't think that the Alaska GOP is stupid enough (and they can be quite stupid) to allow Palin to be re-elected.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, that might be one way to keep her out of the spotlight nationally...but extremely unfair to the people of Alaska.
Besides, she's about to have a granddaughter to raise.
Stick a fork in her. She's done.
She's about to have a granddaughter to raise? She's hardly raising the five kids she has. That poor infant gets dragged around like a sack of potatoes.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that she (almost) makes Bush seem intellegent. The jokes are just too easy these days.
ReplyDeleteThat poor infant gets dragged around like a sack of potatoes.
ReplyDeleteHe makes a good prop for McCain's special-needs base (and I'm not talking about the Downs Syndrome kids at Palin's latest rally!) :-D
hey, UBM, did you hear that Colin Powell sang onstage with Olu Maintain at the "Africa Rising Festival"? BBC News has the story.
ReplyDelete^Speaking of Powell (and Palin)....
ReplyDeletePyramid.
Dang.
brkln6,
ReplyDeletethat was right on time.....although, I thought the general's name was McLovin.
Meanwhile, on Drudge today:
3 headlines about the record Stock Market drop, 2 headlines and video about Palin buying diapers, and one pic (for about 10 minutes) of a blonde dancing on a pole with Obama's picture in front of it.
This one's fun and interactive!
ReplyDeletePalin as President.
I don't think that the Alaska GOP is stupid enough (and they can be quite stupid) to allow Palin to be re-elected.
ReplyDeleteI read in the paper (can't name it now, but I'll get back to you on it, you betcha) that the Alaska GOP started the investigations into Palin's ethical lapses (such as Troopergate), so they can't be totally stupid :-) Also, maverick.
not a national joke ,
ReplyDeletean international joke .
