Remember the Gap Band? This was one of their lesser hits (from the summer of 1980) but one of my faves.
Cheers to the resilient Vinyl Morpher for returning to YouTube after an abrupt (and unwilling) departure.

Gap Band like a muthafucka!
Yo, check my latest piece on Kwame Kilpatrick on ebonyjet.
I thought this was Natalie Cole's "Party Lights". I don't think I remember this Gap Band song.
I also don't remember that Sagat song/video on UBM TV. Only "Funk Dat" comes to mind when I think of him.
Anyways.... Keep diggin' in the crates! :-)
Ah, the Gap Band. I saw them perform after a Dallas Mavericks game a few years ago and they pretty much turned the place out for the first half of their show.
But they really made a left turn when they: a. failed to play "You Dropped a Bomb on Me"; b. dedicated about 15 minutes to cuts off Charlie Wilson's solo album.
It left a bad taste in my mouth. You think Michael Jackson would have a concert and perform "Thriller"?
Its like the B-side of the track Shake.
