Wore the grooves off this album when I was a kid. Freaked out the first time our jazz band teacher put the chart on our stands. It was a lot easier to play than Maiden Voyage.
I saw the title ("Headhunter" came to mind) and thought, "I don't think I know this." Then the needle dropped.... Classic!
Cat Stevens on UBM TV. I don't think I know a whole lotta Cat Stevens songs. The only one that comes to mind is "Was Dog a Doughnut?" That joint is funky too!

I'm flashbacking on some good ol' early-'70s pop, from the glory days of Casey Kasem's "American Top 40." Jim Croce, Bread, America... good songs, good feelings.

Yeah, lately I've been all nostalgic for folk songs. It started with Pete Seeger. "All Around the Kitchen" is a song I remember from childhood. Then I happened upon "The Folk Years." It's got Pete Seeger, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Mamas and the Papas, Harry Belafonte. etc. I didn't realize that Belafonte sang folk songs! So I ended up buying his compilation of folk standards.
