Remember this lying beyotch?

Which lying beyotch? This lying beyotch.

Ahh, who could ever forget Peggy Seltzer?

Not Harry Allen, the hip-hop activist and “media assassin” who started his own politics-’n’-culture blog two months ago.

Yesterday, he uploaded and analyzed a 10-minute video of Margaret Seltzer (alias “Margaret B. Jones”)... a promotional video for her fantasy memoir “Love and Consequences,” all about growing up as a gun-toting foster child in gang-ridden South L.A. (Truth: total Valley girl.)

Good on you, Harry Allen.

Kinda reminds me to ask: Has anyone at Riverhead Books lost her job over this fraud?

Anyways, if you enjoy watching pathological liars lie pathologically, then crack open a 40, pour some off the top for your dead homies, and check out The Race Hustler Who Almost Got Away With It:

  1. I love your 'race-hustler' label. Right. Thanks for the nice note, Mr. U. My boy made the in-law choice, and I reap all the rewards. Wonderful folks indeed.

  2. David, you really, really seem to hate this woman. I mean, extra hard you don't like her.

  3. ^ Wanda, I can't deny I have a special strong feeling against people who lie on this scale... including James Frey, Stephen Glass, Jayson Blair, Janet Cooke...

Information is important. The truth lifts us up. Lies bring us down.

  4. Ah yes, James Frey. Wrote such a good book. I wish he just would have said it was fiction. Shame.

  6. Holy crap, I thought Setzer was simply a con artist but she's clearly certifiable.

And I call bullshit on Bender; she was in on it, clearly.

  7. Dag, I think she believed that ish. Maybe she had multiple personalities. But when she walked into her publishers, it was easy to believe someone who looks like them. They probably said, "It must be true, why else would she be wearing that ill-fitting shirt?"

  8. Her teeth look too good and no white girl growing up in South Central would be talking this proper, She would at least have a "lil mo" bass in her voice and attitude considering she joined a street gang.

Hey everybody's got a hustle, Akon has pretended he was Nicolas Gage in Gone in 60 seconds and was a "chop shop" car lord before doing time and becoming a music star. Maybe I need to put on y profile that I was running guns for the contras.
