I just had to find some new music to make my mood right after the Peggy Seltzer fiasco.
I found a British electro-rock band called Does It Offend You, Yeah? These lads combine high-energy crunch, abrasive noise and snarky attitude. They’re on the come up.
Their debut album will be released in the U.K. later this month, and in the U.S. next month. They’ll be performing at the Coachella Music Festival in California in late April.
You can download the track “With a Heavy Heart” as a FREE MP3. To hear it streaming on my Vox blog, click here.

Catchy,I'm sure there will be some Daft Punk,DFA,Justice style remixes shortly.
ReplyDeleteGot a couple of DJ's gonna try this in the clubs on the weekend.
Good lookin' out as my new music awareness often ends in '89-'92.
My Co-Op student is trying his best to get me up to speed, but still end up yelling at kids to get off my lawn.LOL

ReplyDeleteI'm further behind than you. Stopped listening to music on the radio around 1984.
Ooh, I like this. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteAnother band you might check out is Hot Chip. Also Silversun Pickups and The Coral Sea.
^ Appreciate those tips, dez.

ReplyDeleteYeah, but I've been diggin through the archives and such and imagine that when you interviewed Cube in '89 that you had heard his music.
I had the LP previous as "Panic Zone",mixed with Egyptian Lover and some other Freestyle tracks.
The later N.W.A.,Paris and Geto Boys as much as I enjoyed, was the begining of my departure from trying to keep up on new stuff for personal listening enjoyment.
These days I don't really play much music that would cause my face to turn red if your daughter or Granny was in the room.
"He's the funkiest worm in the world! Alright."
^LOL, dj! I loaned my iPod for our high school reunion family picnic this past weekend because I had an '80s playlist on it and we were reliving the glory days. I wasn't even thinking about what was on there. One of my friends came up to me with this concerned look on her face when an Urban Dance Squad tune cropped up and asked, "Do some of these songs have questionable lyrics? Because I have my 10-year-old here." D'OH! Not something I'm ever concerned about because I don't have kids.
ReplyDeleteUBM, I've got MP3s and iTunes versions of some of the music from the bands I recommended. Let me know if you want 'em and I'll e-mail you a few to sample.
