Here’s a flashback to 1992, post-L.A. riots... the early days of HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam.” Chappelle was brand new to New York City, and he hadn’t yet turned 20! Young’un had it poppin’ even then.
He did a hilarious sketch on Def Comedy Jam about how white people came up with the n-word a few years back. My cousins quote it for weeks and retold it countless times. I can't find that on any collections or website though.
ROFLMBAO!
ReplyDeleteI think he used do his comedy thing in Washington Square Park (in the Village) in NYC.
ReplyDeleteNotice how his voice isn't so twangy? He's funny and all, but sometimes his voice grates.
I don't think he was funny in his early years I wouldn't had watched him.
ReplyDeleteAlso funny: he might be wearing Cross Colors!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteHilarious. His style was well-formed even back then.
