ReplyDeleteI remember someone asked Simon a longtime ago whether he ever thought about creating prequels for The Wire. I guess he did think about it, though at that time he said no he isn't interested.

The role I'd like to see him play next? Thelonious Monk.

ReplyDeleteI knew him back in New Orleans before he "turned pro" as an actor, and he's The Truth (as any fan of "The Wire" can attest.
I also share Monk's birth date, so I'm especially interested in seeing his story told well. Let's hope someone floats the idea past Wendell!
