Embedded below is the R-rated trailer for Will Ferrell’s basketball comedy, “Semi-Pro.” (Hat-tip: The Playlist.)
The movie opens in late February. A “clean” trailer is also up on YouTube.
All in all, looks like more of the same from Mr. Ferrell. And you know what? With his flicks, I’m like, “I’ll see every other one.”
Saw “Anchorman,” skipped “Kicking & Screaming.” Saw “Talladega Nights,” skipped “Blades of Glory.”
So I guess I’ll go and see “Semi-Pro.”
I haven't seen any of them since "Anchorman". I don't think I'm missing much.
ReplyDeleteThe only funny movies are coming from Judd Apatow and co. it seems. I loved Superbad.
"Anchorman" still cracks me up. Whenever I come across it on cable, I'll give it 15 or 20 minutes.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, SJ... I don't think you're missing much.
The only thing I've ever liked from Will Ferrell was his impression of Dubya on SNL. Otherwise, if I can avoid him in anything, I do.
ReplyDelete^ dez, if you stumble on "Anchorman" on cable, you might like. (I know I just plugged it... but it's worth repeating. Sometimes silly just works.)
ReplyDeleteI might give it a try, UBM. I mean, I can't stand Adam Sandler, either, but the trailer for his new movie made me laugh to the point where I am considering seeing it. Will does irritate the hell out of me, though :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah--pretty much the same old, same old with Will Ferrell. Even 'Stranger Than Fiction' was a 'serious' role for him, you could tell the classic WF was itching to come out! I just watched 'Blades of Glory' the other night with my 10 year-old nephew and I cracked up! Could've been the Grey Goose & OJ, though....
ReplyDeleteThis looks like "Blades of Glory" ALL OVER AGAIN. Oversexed athlete behaves in bizarre manner in competitive sport. I loved Ferrell on SNL but his movies fall flat for me. Anchorman and Blades of Glory barely managed a chuckle for me. *shrug*
