MBP of the Week: Los Angeles Times (again)

Poor rappers… you gotta feel for ’em. No group of black people (except for athletes) falls victim more often to the Misidentified Black Person syndrome.

Now it’s happened to one of the most influential rap stars of all times: Chuck D of Public Enemy.

Public Enemy… you’ve heard of them, right?

Apparently some faceless factotum at the L.A. Times has not, because the following correction ran in the Times on Saturday (May 5):

“The caption on a photo of Chuck D that ran with the review of the music documentary ‘Rock the Bells’ in Friday’s Calendar section said the rapper was a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. He was not in that group.”

Any and all serious hip-hop heads reading this post are probably peeing their pants right now.

Wu-Tang??
