... to David Simon, my good friend, whose HBO miniseries “Generation Kill” today received 11 Emmy nominations... including a writing nomination for himself. Oorah!

It's a shame that the cast went completely ignored, though. The Emmy people seem only able to vote for famous names in the miniseries/TV movie categories. I mean Kiefer Sutherland, for what was basically a two-hour 24 episode and not a TV movie? Really?

David,
Do you think the emmy people are trying to make up for their criminal ignoring of the wire?
^ Actually, I think it's the fact that so few miniseries get made nowadays, a good one's gonna shine like a beacon.
"Gen Kill" is up against only one other show for the Best Miniseries trophy.
I like those odds.
I did not have a chance to watch the mini series, but have heard great things about it from friends. Guess I'll have to check it out soon.
^ Adrean, I think "Gen Kill" comes closer than any movie I've ever seen in showing what it's really like to be a soldier.
My boy Rey shined in that joint!
