I wonder if it's possible to enjoy the graphic novel after having a crappy experience with the movie?
I haven't seen it yet, and probably won't until video (the joys of little ones! :) ), but it's not the kind of thing that I had any serious hopes of a good screen translation for.
I enjoyed the hell out of it (the movie). Fastest three hour movie I ever saw, and I had to pee. Can't wait to see the longer version on Blu-Ray.
Been a little while since I read the comicbook, but it was among my favorites, though I think Alan Moore's best is probably From Hell. Now that movie wasn't so good. Though not as bad as League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which was also a pretty good comicbook, not counting Black Dossier.
That is made of awesome! And like Edshugeo, I thought it was a fast-moving near-three hours and I had to pee, too! Not as good as the original material, of course, but some things were very well-done (like Rorschach).

For a minute I thought that was real. I'm thinking, "I don't remember this cartoon!?" :-)
I'm sort of interested is seeing the movie only because I read the graphic novel. I wasn't as captivated by it as real fans are.
^ I didn't much enjoy the movie. Never read the graphic novel. This one wasn't for me... but I succumbed to the hype.
