its funny how she was being unnecessarily confrontational with the police officers, even while she was crying on the ground. that was funny.
while its better than being shot, I'm not a huge fan of the tasers. I didn't hear him say he was going to taze her, though seeing that he was pointing it at her at the beginning of the clip I will just assume he did.
She had the taste tasered out her mouth. I never want to be tasered. I think there is something to showing this, contrary to what Mr. Stamm thinks. We're living in a society where people have zero impulse control. Yes, you can tell your boyfriend to get his hands off you. You can work your neck and point your finger when you're letting a girlfriend know how you feel. But if you are Black or Brown, you have no damn business mouthing off to the cops. I bet she won't do it again.
first time I saw this clip (on another site) I laughed my ass off. First of all, tasering is inherently funny, in part because it's almost always used (at least as seen in youtube clips) as a way over the top response to a problem, ie "don't tase me bro".
the other funny part about it is the physical gag that results from it. physical comedy is almost always cruel.
I also thought about the POV of the cop...he probably so tired of women who talk shit..maybe he has one at home...but here at work he can shut it down. zap!
seeing it a second time, and on this website (not one dedicated to mean internet humor)...I didn't laugh so much.
Post the classic "don't tase me bro" and see what your readers think.
I think tasering is bullshit way of cops "gaining control" over a mouthy woman, an obviously non-threatening male or a kid, like the one who just died from a cops taser in Bay City, MI. Too many people are seriously hurt or killed by the taser, when the use was never warranted.
You're not wrong to laugh, but it just wasn't funny to me. Don't get me wrong, I love some good taser humor, but the woman just wasn't obnoxious enough to make it funny.
Well, since her face wasn't mosaiced on a national TV show, I'll assume she was convicted of something. That is the only saving grace in what is otherwise a gross and disturbing use of force on a person that posed no reasonable threat (unless the officer's feelings were hurt by her words).
"Humans behaving stupidly is always good for a chuckle."
No it's not right to laugh when people get hurt, and particularly not in this situation.
The woman was getting out of the car as requested and made no physical moves or verbal threats that could remotely have been interpreted as a threat to the THREE police officers present.
Moreover, as the woman was getting out of the car, she stated that she was getting complying with the officers' command.
Fact is, the police officer grabed her wrist her as she was getting out of the car without cause. That is assault.
Police officers exactly BECAUSE they are authorized to use force must do so judiciously.
In this case, the officers committed a crime. That's no laughing matter.
Huh? The woman got out of the car as commanded AND stated that she was getting out. She was correct when she told the officer that he did not have to touch her. Nowhere was this woman not complying with their commands.
She had it coming. She was trashed. She wouldn't shut up and follow instructions. She resisted the cops attempts to calm down. She kept climbing the ladder that is ten feet tall and bullet proof. If the cops did not have the taser they would have pepper sprayed her. If they did not have pepper spray they would have beat the shit out of her. In any event she was heading down the road to an ass kicking. Even my dumb ass students know when to shut the fuck up and back down from each other, from me or the cops. It does not take a genius iq in street smarts to avoid a major beatdown over something trivial. She could have said one last insult and surrendered before the taser. Her fat ass flossing the g string was grin worthy.
i wasn't sure if her head had smacked the windshield - looked like a giant spikerweb on there.
I wonder what she would have done if he'd given her room to actually get out of the car - both of her hands were showing and she didn't have a weapon so I don't get the threat that made him use a taser - I think she was drunk and he od'd on adrenaline and testosterone - definitely not a good time for either one of them.
Glad he's not my dad - I was mouthy.
Tasering looks like it really hurts, although I did laugh at video you posted of the drunk bbq party where that guy had his buddy taser him to see what it would feel like.
Cops don't have all day. He had to be in that close in order to ensure that she didn't have a weapon.
She was not compliant at all. Her "voluntary" exit could've taken all night.
He told her repeatedly to put her hands behind her back and she didn't. In the old days they would have dragged her to the ground or whipped her in the noggin with the nightstick.
No, it's wrong to laugh because it wasn't funny; it was scary. It was scary that this woman was so doggone stupid. Okay, her thong was humorous, but, overall, it was a sad, sad situation.
I remember when the fire department came to school to teach us how to prevent fires. Police officers need to go to schools every year, heck twice a year, to teach kids how to behave so they don't get tasered, or worse, shot. Kids need to be taught such life skills starting in kindergarten so if it's pounded into their heads every year it might sink in by the time they really need it.
This idiot woman had no common sense thinking she could boss the police around. That's scary enough.
I don't really get the point of tasering just to get someone to shut up (which wasn't particularly effective in this case). Why not a good ol' fashioned pummeling:
notice her shattered windshield. she may have hit her head. you don't pull a woman out of a car, slam her to the ground and tasser her in that situation.
It looks like poor training to me. As an officer your supposed to warn a person before you pepper spray them or use any kind of weapon to subdue them. The only exception is when your personal safety is jeopardized.
If being dumb warrants this type of reaction 99.9% of the population needs to be tased.
Agreed with Qadree. Also, what if she were epileptic or something and there was no warning first? There are those who have died from tasering....is mouthing off justifiable for killing someone? Dunno...
If that was a real incident, nothing funny about it at all. Typical white cop jumping to the most drastic measure incident. Why would you think anything about that was funny? If you had a bad day and a muthafucka jumped to conclusions, would it be funny if it happened to you?
Though they were definitely unprofessional and out of line in the way they treated the woman, the verbal warning in a situation like that is more for your fellow officers.
If my partner tased somebody while I had my hands on them and didn't warn me I'd want to kick his ass. If he accidentally tased the other officer while he was standing that close to the woman she could have easily gotten his gun and the situation would have escalated.
Geneva Girl's idea of having cops go to the school to teach kids yearly how not tasered or have your ass kicked by the cops is a great one.
Kelly Belle said "if you are black or brown you have no damn business mouthing off to the cops."
I remember when I was younger watching the cops put some knucklehead into a paddy wagon who was fighting like the devil. They were just beating his white ass without stop. I muttered under my breath, never even thinking the other sightseer next to me could hear, "Police brutality" and in one second I had a cop shoving a stick towards my face yelling "You want to go with him?" Now maybe if I was black or brown he would have just taken me, I dunno, but I learned then and there, if you are black, brown or white, you have no business mouthing off to the cops. Didn't Chris Rock even teach this in cartoon format?

Yes.
Call me Old School or old fool, but I see nothing amusing.
. . . and sure wouldn't want to be a police officer, dealing routinely with that behavior and much worse.
So I clicked off as she rolled and shrieked.
No doubt you've seen truly mirthful moments during ride-alongs, David, and heard laugh-'til-it-hurts True Tales from Bill Clark and pals . . .
. . . so where does that rank a plus-size loudmouth in a thong who deserved the volts 'fore someone got hurt -- low on the smile scale?
what are you laughing at? i see a woman afraid that she's about to be physically abused by cops and then she's tassered in writhing in agony.
where's the outrage? what if the cops were white? would it be funny then? it's not funny now.
^ The humor is in her trying to boss police officers around. What did she expect the outcome to be?
Humans behaving stupidly is always good for a chuckle.
Plus, how about her last line? "Watch, I'ma git you!"
Still talkin' shit. That is COMEDY GOLD!
Ain't nothing but a g string baby or something like the D O double G said once or twice.
Pretty much what I deal with daily from the boys and girls in my classroom. Except I have only my wits and what is left of my love for humanity.

^ You don't think "force" was required to place that woman under arrest?
Put yourself in the cop's place. The woman isn't complying with your commands. What would you have done? Obeyed her commands to turn her loose?

^ Fisher, why do you continue reading my blog?
She isn't wearing a thong, she is wearing panties that are too small for her.
^ You don't think "force" was required to place that woman under arrest?
Okay, excessive force then.
I agree with Michael Fisher here. I see a police brutality lawsuit in these officers' future.
She had it coming. She was trashed. She wouldn't shut up and follow instructions. She resisted the cops attempts to calm down. She kept climbing the ladder that is ten feet tall and bullet proof. I think she got off relatively light.

It's not funny no matter how you slice it.
did you know this is part of a larger segment that my son said he actually saw on "cops?"
he said the woman locked herself in the car and wouldn't get out.
so apparently by the time she did get out, they had had it...thus the tassing.
She locked herself IN the car?
Gosh, she sure doesn't look Polish.

I'm glad it wasn't a white police officer, otherwise black people would be crying racism lol.
