Marian Anderson – the renowned concert singer and credit to her race – is familiar to any student of Black History Month.She famously performed on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in 1939 at the urging of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. (Because some white ladies wouldn’t let Ms. Anderson sing at Constitution Hall... ’cuz she was black.)
But did you know that Marian Anderson was a cat fancier?
Forty-five years ago, near the end of her concert career, she released an album dedicated to her cat. It was called “Snoopycat: The Adventures of Marian Anderson’s Cat Snoopy.”

NO! I will NOT listen to it. The photo is enough for me. Since I am NOT an animal crazed person, I will NEVER understand the hype over cats, dogs, fish, gerbils or any type of pet.
