It was just curious to me the extent to which that clip presaged MTV's bread and butter content in a strikingly "the more things change, the more they stay the same" sort of way.
As many old cartoons and thangs as I've consumed over the years, that was the very first time I'd noticed the resemblance.
What I was remarking on was how similar this old bettie boop reel was to a more contemporary music video. Though I've got a couple dozen bettie boop reels here at home, I had not previously noticed that fact.

Ironic that it was made by U M and MTV corporation. It seems to presage everything that the best of MTV ever had to offer.
