Levi Stubbs, the longtime lead singer of the Four Tops, passed away today at his home in Detroit. He was 72.The Billboard.com obituary is here.
Mr. Stubbs’s voice soared on such great Holland-Dozier-Holland songs as “Reach Out, I’ll Be There,” “Baby I Need Your Loving” and “Standing in the Shadows of Love.”

That brought tears to my eyes, but God still let him do what he was put here to do - sooth us with song. He has made his mark in our hearts and now he is free.

Pls do...especially when you have one of your soul music questions. It along with your site is one of the reasons my 9-year is standing behind me singing "Sally Go Round the Roses" instead of "My Baby Daddy".
Yup,Soulful Detroit was where my travels took me,post S.P.,just a better fit for me,even though my main interests are outside of the Deeee-troit scene,it is chock full of good people(and Stu,lol).
