The video quality is poor. The sound is shitty. But you’ll be glad you spent 5 minutes watching this clip from 1983. (Check out Prince’s mode of transportation to the stage.)
Anybody have any information about this show??

Wait, Wait, did Prince pull the light post down with him when he left the stage?????
p.s. his mode of transportation was cute! LOL

MMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SCREAMING here in my apartment! I am sure my neighbors think I'm nuts (then again, I live in Newark - maybe they don't)
BLESS.YOU!
I've been lurking since I discovered you via my girl Afrobella, but I HAD to come out of lurk mode to acknowledge this.
This ENTIRE show needs to be common knowledge.
Again - BLESS YOU Undercover Black Man.
**Ok... calming down now... need to shut the computer off and go to sleep...
Goddamn, my brain just exploded! I dare anyone to think up a modern-day equivalent to this event.
If this is the same video, I've known about it since my prince.org days. I even downloaded it, but I've never watched it. Hardcore Prince fans on the site always referred to how embarrassing it was for Prince. Reading this and being a big fan, my hyperempathy would kick in, so I've never watched it.
Awesome clip. Prince never met a guitar he couldn't mock-masturbate with...
Legends. Awesome.
Yeah, this has been making the circuit for a while.
Glad he grew up.
Bonus trivia:
His mode of transporation appeared in the movie "The Last Dragon",OMG I almost forgot to say BERRY GORDY'S "The Last Dragon"!
Now who is the master?Sho-Nuff!
Hope that gets your Glow on.
Glad to see I wasn't the only one who freaked, y'all.
So Bklyn6... is this embarrassing for Prince?
Maybe, it's more like uncomfortable. Observers said stuff like: "It’s obvious he’s uncomfortable because he’s not prepared, and uncomfortable being on stage with other GREATS in the buisiness."
I definitely remember how uncomfortable and awkward he appeared when Dick Clark interviewed him on American Bandstand 30 years ago.
Hey! Just the other day I came across some early rare photos from last year's "Prince: Pre-Fame" exhibit.
^ You find so much amazing stuff, Bklyn6! I really appreciate you sharing it here.
I remember when I saw this the first time on VHS, thinking that for all the great Black artisty up there, it sure was a dud. And Prince was little full of himself at that time. I would've loved to see him and Michael do a dance-off.
Michael came off a little insecure to me.
One of the members of my soul music forum, DJ Funk-o-Nots, at http://www.soulfuldetroit.com/forum posted the following after I posted the link there and asked if anyone cld source it:
As far of this footage , this is what i heard.
The Prince part is cut out of the released VHS , LASERDISC or DVD , because he looked not himself.
This show is untittled as James Brown with special guest B.B. King. from 1983.

Des, thanks for the info. This must be straight-up bootleg all the way... this show is out there with different packagings. The quality is probably no better than the Web clip.
Dank je wel.
